I dig The Hard Lessons’ soul driven, blues-rock. Yet for their most recent album they’ve slightly shied away from this and incorporated more pop sounds. I know a band has to change gears or else we “critics” would complain of said band producing the same sound and going nowhere sonically. So I did welcome the change and gave Arms Forest a good listen. Half of the album I was really into, the other half was too sappy for me…perhaps I’m biased as I’m a single, bitter, bachelorette unlike this happily bound duo. But check out Augie Visocchi and Korin Louise, aka The Hard Lessons. And you have to see them in concert, these guys know how to rock HARD!
